What does it cost to
have a custom pet portrait created?
A 9 x 12 inch head study in colored pencil $200.00 for one pet. I am now
also offering a graphite head study for $100.00 for a
more affordable option.
Ten percent (10%) of the proceeds of the
order will be donated to an animal rescue group of your choice,
or I
will pick one for you and let you know what group your order has
helped support. Please
keep in mind that the price of commissioned portraits does not
include special backgrounds, full body drawings or special
requests. If you wish for to me to add these items to your
piece, please contact me for a quote.
What size
will the portrait be?
Typically portraits are drawn on 9 x 12 inch heavyweight Bristol
Vellum paper with an image size of about 8 x 10 inches, which works well with 11 x 14 inch mat and
frame.
How can I
pay for the portrait?
Return to the
home page and click to place the order and make the payment
with a credit card through Paypal, then send
me an email after submitting the
payment and give details of your order, including the rescue
group you wish to support, any
deadline you have in mind, the breed of the pet or any other
details which would be helpful to bring the portrait to life.
OR, if you prefer to pay by check or money order, you will need to
send the photo(s) to
me along with a
check made payable to PetSketches and include any information
you feel would be helpful in capturing your friend.
What if I
want to give a portrait as a gift, but I don't know what photos
to use or can't get a hold of them without ruining the surprise?
If you would like to give a portrait as a gift, you may purchase
a gift certificate. Printable gift certificates can be sent to
your email account which will be redeemable upon payment.
What types of photos
can you use to create a portrait?
The best photographs to work from are close-ups that show a good
deal of detail, shot at eye level with your pet. The more
photographs you are able to provide, the better the finished
portrait will be. You can send photos to: Petsketches, PO
Box 1092, Carmel IN 46082, or you can email digital photos to
me by clicking here.
If you have special instructions or a deadline in mind, please
email or write me and let me know that when you provide the
photos. Original photos will be returned to you safe.
To ensure the best portrait, please provide
photos where the head of your pet measures at least 2".
How long will it
take to receive my portrait?
Time to complete varies depending on how many projects I am
working on at the current time. Most colored pencil
portraits will take between 6 and 8 weeks to complete after
photos are received. Graphite portraits will take about 3
to 4 weeks. Please advise me of any deadlines for
specific holidays or events and I will let you know if that date for completion is possible.
If you require a faster turnaround, please contact
me.
Tell me
about the donation to rescue groups.
Ten
percent of all portrait orders will be donated to a rescue group
of your choosing, or if you would like, I will pick one for you.
